Galway Arts Centre is a gallery showing national and international contemporary art and works with professional artists in a range of art forms for exhibitions, usually supported by auxiliary events involving talks, symposia, music, story-telling and screenings.
It provides a Visual Arts access point for all audiences, presents opportunities for interpretation and attracts families with a specific,free, child-friendly events programme.It offers a wide variety of media, of artists and practices, and a promotes both national and international arts. The gallery is open from Monday – Friday 10am – 5:30pm, Saturday 12am – 5pm. Admission is free. This building also hosts a wide range of activities from classes in art, writing and photography to workshops in drama, music and singing.
