Aniar is a terroir-based Michelin starred restaurant and boutique Cookery School located in Galway’s Westend.
In the case of Aniar restaurant, they use the word terroir in order to describe the way in which their food comes from the specific place that is Galway and the west of Ireland. The natural course of the seasons will dictate their ever-changing and evolving menu.
The kitchen is led by chef patron JP McMahon. Alongside using wild and foraged local ingredients, JP likes to foster old traditional cooking and preservation methods, such as curing, pickling, smoking and fermenting. Aniar’s cooking classes are also run by JP who offers hands-on experience to his students.
