Galway’s westend Traders Association: Working together for a thriving neighbourhood

Every Tuesday at 11am, the Galway’s Westend Traders Association comes together in Massimo for an open meeting dedicated to improving and strengthening our neighbourhood. These weekly gatherings are a space where local business owners, creatives, hospitality teams and independent traders can share their experiences, raise concerns, celebrate achievements and collectively plan for the sustainable growth of Galway’s westend.

The association plays an active role in lobbying local authorities, applying for grants, supporting all traders in the area and addressing the day-to-day issues that impact how we work and welcome visitors. From infrastructure and streetscape improvements to festival planning and community wellbeing, the focus is always on creating a better, more people-centred westend.

What makes these meetings unique is their open, collaborative approach. Every voice matters. Whether you run a long-established business or are new to the neighbourhood, you are encouraged to join the conversation, share your insights and help shape the future of Galway’s Westend. The work is collective, grounded in respect, and driven by a shared commitment to building a vibrant, inclusive and resilient business community.

If you have a business in Galway’s westend, you are always welcome to join the Traders Association. Together, we can continue to champion local enterprise, support sustainable development and ensure that our neighbourhood remains one of Galway’s most creative, human and community-focused places to live, work and visit.
