folús, a new group exhibition curated by Irish artists Lilymay Healy and Tara Dowling, opens at Satellite Projects & Studios in Galway’s Westend on 16 September 2026.
Bringing together artists and writers working across Ireland and London, folús explores landscape as a site of memory, mythology and possibility. The exhibition considers what remains when histories disappear from view, and how traces of the past can generate new stories, fictions and imagined futures.
The exhibition features work by Lilymay Healy, Oli James, Kitty Chesher, Natasha Botelho Cook, Kate Butler, Ciara King, Ciara CH, Jack Ó Meara, Aoife Ní Dhuinn, Tara Dowling and Blaise Gilburd.
For Healy and Dowling, both Irish artists based in London, folús is an opportunity to reconnect with Ireland’s artistic community while bringing the work of London-based practitioners to Galway. The exhibition creates a meeting point between artists working across both contexts, with a particular focus on emerging practices and research-led approaches to place, history and cultural memory.
The exhibition programme includes an opening night, an artist talk and exhibition tour, and an evening of readings as part of Culture Night on Friday 18 September.
Taking place at the newly opened Satellite Projects & Studios, folús adds to Galway’s growing visual arts scene, bringing together a diverse group of artists and writers for an exhibition centred on the histories, mythologies and possible futures embedded in landscape.
